MedjetAssist Digital Card | Easy Access To All of Your Medjet Benefits
Acknowledging that traditional paper and plastic cards have gone the way of the Dodo bird, MedjetAssist, a world leader in medical, security and crisis response, today launched a free Apple iOS Wallet card (formerly known as Apple Passbook). Designed to offer convenience and comfort, the Medjet Apple Wallet card is a functional way for its globetrotting members to retrieve their Medjet information on the fly without the hassles of accessing a card from an actual wallet. Instant access of the member’s information makes it easier for distressed members or loved ones to put MedjetAssist’s myriad of global rescue, health, security and crisis response benefits into action. According to a recent survey commissioned by Expedia.com and Egencia, more than 66 percent of worldwide travelers said they consider their smartphones the most essential item, even ahead of their toothbrush and driver’s license. In addition, 84 percent of travelers said they want to access information from anywhere; 60 percent do not “unplug” on leisure trips; 60 percent won’t go on vacation without a mobile phone; and 63 percent sleep with their phone next to their bed on vacation.
“From booking trips to storing information, our membership base relies on their smartphones for everyday use, especially when traveling near and far,” said Roy Berger, president and CEO of MedjetAssist. “The more well connected and comforted our members feel from the simplicity and convenience of a Medjet Wallet card, the more they can focus on enjoying their travels.”
How It Works:
Existing MedjetAssist members can download the Medjet Wallet card free of charge by going to www.MedjetDigitalCard.com. New MedjetAssist members will receive a link to download the card in their electronic confirmation letter or could visit www.MedjetDigitalCard.com. The e-card contains myriad features including: membership type and identification number; U.S. and international direct link dial numbers for assistance; a remaining countdown clock to membership expiration; a renewal link; an option to turn on push notifications of renewal notices and special membership deals; and a listing of benefits. There is also a function for the user to forward their info onto others as either a PDF or as a wallet card.
Medjet will be releasing a Google Wallet version in late 2016 for members who are Android users.
MedjetAssist is world-renowned for its medical repatriation services, transporting hospitalized members more than 150 miles from home from anywhere in the world to their home country hospital of choice. There are no health restrictions for travelers under age 75, co-pays or cost limitations. Membership also includes personal travel concierge benefits like free legal and medical referrals, telephone interpretation, emergency message relay to family and friends, and information on visa, passport and immunization requirements for travel to foreign countries.
And with the new Horizon membership, members have access to supplemental crisis response, travel security and consulting services, plus ground ambulance transfer, specialty hospital transfer and cash advances (as many foreign countries require payment upfront for treatment).
